Vancouver Pride Parade draws crowds downtown
The 48th annual Vancouver Pride Parade, themed “Unapologetically Queer,” was followed by the Davie Village Pride Festival and related road closures.

The 48th annual Vancouver Pride Parade brought floats, furries, costumes and large crowds of spectators to downtown Vancouver under the theme “Unapologetically Queer.”
The parade travelled along Pacific Street from B.C. Place to Howe Street at the north end of the Burrard Street Bridge. Road closures left the downtown core congested for people travelling near the route.
The parade was followed by the Davie Village Pride Festival, closing a week of Pride events and community gatherings. Sunday’s festival ran from 2 p.m. to 10 p.m. on Davie Street between Burrard and Jervis streets, with live music, roaming performers, community vendors and interactive activities.
Closures on Davie Street between Burrard and Jervis, and on Comox Street from Thurlow to Bute, were in effect until midnight. Nelson Park also had traffic restrictions for additional festival areas.
