South Surrey’s Pacific Sea Wolves finished second overall at the B.C. provincial swimming championships in Kamloops, capping a strong summer for the club and its para swimmers.

Para swimmer Mary Jibb won bronze at the 2026 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, Scotland, Canada’s first medal of the event. Head coach Jy Lawrence said Jibb overcame a challenging year after being assigned a new sport class and also recorded a personal best.

Sebastian Massabie set a Canadian record in the S5 50-metre freestyle before competing in the S7 class, two classes above his own. Lawrence said he stayed focused and posted a personal best despite the difficult assignment.

The club sent a record 54 athletes aged 10 to 18 to provincials. Its 15-to-17 boys won all three relay events, and the boys also captured the open-age 4x200-metre freestyle relay.
