Some WestJet flights still cancelled at YVR after strike ends
WestJet is restoring its network after its flight-attendant strike, but says disruptions may continue for several days. Four of 116 scheduled WestJet flights at YVR were cancelled.

WestJet's flight-attendant strike has ended, but travellers using Vancouver International Airport may still encounter cancellations and schedule changes as the airline rebuilds its network.
CUPE 8125, representing 4,400 WestJet mainline flight attendants, withheld services on Aug. 2 after the airline had already cancelled hundreds of flights in anticipation of the action. The parties reached a tentative agreement Aug. 3, allowing operations to begin resuming.
A YVR spokesperson said 116 WestJet flights were scheduled to arrive or depart that day, with four cancelled. The airport said 36 WestJet Encore flights were otherwise operating on schedule.
WestJet says aircraft and crews must be repositioned, so further disruptions remain possible. Passengers are asked to check their flight status, monitor messages from the airline and review their itinerary before leaving for the airport.
The airline has extended flexible arrangements to customers booked to travel from July 30 through Aug. 6. Rebooked travel must occur within 60 days of the original departure and changes or cancellations must be made more than two hours before departure; refunds depend on the fare rules.
