Fairleigh Dickinson University will open a 70,000-square-foot campus at Oakridge Park next month for the Fall 2026 term, consolidating its two former downtown Vancouver locations.

The New Jersey-based private, not-for-profit university says the move will give students a more modern, unified campus and expanded services and programming. FDU offers undergraduate and graduate programs in business, health, hospitality, humanities and information technology. Its Vancouver students can pursue degrees accredited in both Canada and the United States while studying in Canada.

The campus will include dozens of classrooms, computer labs, semi-wet science labs and communal spaces. Perkins&Will’s Vancouver office designed the interior in collaboration with QuadReal Property Group, the property owner and mall operator.

The university will occupy an upper-level space near the northwest corner of the indoor mall, beside the rooftop public park. FDU president Michael Avaltroni said the relocation is intended to strengthen ties with B.C. businesses and organizations and broaden experiential-learning opportunities.

Oakridge Park’s mall and Time Out Market opened in late May. A Safeway and expanded access to Oakridge-41st Avenue SkyTrain Station are expected later this summer, while more retailers and the first phase of residential units are expected to be ready in 2027. The first phase also includes 700,000 square feet of office space.

A City of Vancouver civic centre at the site, including community, recreation and cultural spaces and a Vancouver Public Library branch, is expected to open next year.
