Motorcyclist dies after collision with car in Richmond

A motorcyclist has died after a collision with a passenger vehicle in Richmond on Tuesday afternoon, police say.

Richmond RCMP said officers responded at about 4:43 p.m. to the crash at the intersection of No. 1 Road and Lockhart Road. BC Emergency Health Services attended and provided medical assistance.

The motorcyclist was taken to hospital in serious condition and later died from their injuries. Police have not identified the victim and have not said whether anyone else was injured.

The Richmond RCMP Serious Crime Unit has taken over the investigation. Investigators are working to determine the circumstances that led to the fatal collision, and no further details have been released.
