Vancouver Island man faces multiple drug trafficking charges
Corey Lee Joseph Pouliot, 38, was charged with possessing fentanyl, methamphetamine and cocaine for the purpose of trafficking. He remains in custody and is scheduled to appear in Port Alberni court on Nov. 17.

A Vancouver Island man arrested in June was charged last week with multiple drug trafficking offences. The Combined Special Forces Unit of B.C. (CFSEU-BC), a joint anti-gang policing force that works with local agencies across the province, said officers with its Uniform Gang Enforcement Team encountered the man in Port Alberni on June 13.
Police said the man was connected to a “motor vehicle infraction” officers observed while on patrol. He ran from police and was arrested by the Port Alberni RCMP. In a release issued Friday afternoon, CFSEU-BC said officers found suspected drugs consistent with drug trafficking and seized cash and a weapon. Police said he was arrested for possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking and flight from a peace officer.
Police continued investigating his drug trafficking activity after the arrest and eventually executed a search warrant at his home. They found a gun and additional drugs there. CFSEU-BC said 38-year-old Corey Lee Joseph Pouliot was charged on Oct. 29 with one count each of possession for the purpose of trafficking fentanyl, methamphetamine and cocaine.
Online court records show Pouliot remains in custody and is scheduled to appear in court in Port Alberni on Nov. 17.
