THE ARENAS at Langley Events Centre opens with five new sport surfaces
The $149-million Township of Langley complex adds three ice arenas and two dry-floor arenas for non-profit and community users.

THE ARENAS at Langley Events Centre is now open, adding facilities for ice hockey, lacrosse, ball hockey and other community sport and recreation activities in the Township of Langley. The complex is the Township’s first additional ice and indoor dry-floor arena project built for non-profit and community use in more than 50 years.
The more than 400,000-square-foot facility uses a stacked-arena design, with two dry-floor arenas above three ice surfaces. Its feature arena seats about 1,500 spectators, while each of the two additional ice arenas and two dry-floor arenas has capacity for about 350. The site includes underground parking and an above-ground dedicated drop-off lane.
The $149-million project received $24 million from the Government of British Columbia’s Growing Communities Fund. Mayor Eric Woodward said the facility will increase capacity and options for local youth, players, coaches and families, while moving programming from Aldergrove Community Centre and George Preston Recreation Centre in Brookswood could make more time available for other local non-profit organizations.
Located alongside existing Langley Events Centre arena surfaces at 7888 200 Street and the FIELDHOUSE, THE ARENAS is intended to support user groups, tournaments and events. It will offer licensed food and beverage service, hockey-specific training opportunities and office space for the Langley Minor Hockey Association, Langley Girls Ice Hockey Association, Valley Ball Hockey Association and Langley Minor Lacrosse Association.
