Vancouver Canadians cancel final fireworks night amid B.C. wildfire emergency
The Vancouver Canadians have cancelled their Aug. 27 fireworks night at Nat Bailey Stadium and will not hold another fireworks show this season, citing B.C.’s ongoing wildfire emergency.

The Vancouver Canadians have cancelled their scheduled Aug. 27 fireworks night at Nat Bailey Stadium, ending fireworks events for the remainder of the 2026 season.
It is the second cancellation this month, after the club withdrew plans for an Aug. 13 show. In a social-media post, the team said resources needed to safely stage fireworks remain needed in communities affected by wildfires during B.C.’s ongoing state of emergency.
The club said it will instead make a monetary donation to the United Way’s BC Wildfire Recovery Fund. Vancouver typically hosts six to nine fireworks nights in a season and held five this year before the two cancellations. Wildfire conditions have also led to postponed or cancelled Canadians fireworks shows in 2015, 2017, 2018 and 2023.
