Compliments chicken burgers recalled over undeclared egg
The CFIA has recalled Compliments Smashed 100% Chicken Burgers with labels that do not declare egg, expanding an earlier August recall.

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency has recalled Compliments Smashed 100% Chicken Burgers because egg is not declared on affected labels.
Consumers, retailers and food-service operators are being told not to use, sell, serve or distribute the affected product. Compliments products are sold at grocery chains including Sobeys, FreshCo, Foodland and Safeway.
The latest action expands a recall issued Aug. 7 that applied only to packages with a specified UPC, best-before date and lot number. The CFIA now says all codes that do not declare egg on the label are affected.
The recall is classified as Class 2, meaning there is a moderate risk of short-term or non-life-threatening health effects. The agency did not report any reactions linked to the burgers. Consumers can report concerns to the Government of Canada or contact the CFIA at 1 (613) 773-2342 or information@inspection.gc.ca.
