Vancouver police officer charged with assault

Vancouver Police Department officer Jason Grewal has been charged with one count of assault in connection with an incident alleged to have occurred in Vancouver on Sept. 9, 2025, the B.C. Prosecution Service said Thursday.

A spokesperson said an experienced Crown counsel with no connection to Grewal approved the charge. Grewal is not in custody and is scheduled to make his first court appearance Oct. 1.

The prosecution service said it would not provide further information or comment because the matter is before the court.
