The B.C. Government’s Transportation Investment Corporation has issued its fall 2026 construction advisory for the Surrey-Langley SkyTrain project, outlining major work planned from September through November. Drivers can expect delays along the corridor through the end of November.

The advisory covers three sections: 138th Street to 164th Street, 164th Street to 184th Street, and 184th Street to 203rd Street. Basic construction hours are 7 a.m. to 10 p.m., Monday through Saturday, although most work is scheduled to finish by 8 p.m. Some work may occur outside regular hours, and TIC says nearby residents and businesses will be notified when longer hours are required.

Planned work includes roadwork, station construction, utility relocation, guideway construction, propulsion power substation construction, and track and systems installation. Residents, businesses, drivers, cyclists and pedestrians may experience increased vibration near construction sites, noise from pile driving, lane closures, short traffic stoppages and changing intersection traffic patterns.

Fraser Highway between 138th Street and 203rd Street will have road closures. Some businesses may have altered access but will remain open, with signs posted to direct customers. Pedestrians may be rerouted around work areas, while cyclists may be asked to detour, use multi-use paths, share traffic lanes or dismount. Bus stops may be moved or closed in construction areas.

Between 138th Street and 164th Street, the Surrey Sprinter will complete its alignment section this fall and be disassembled between 138th and 140th streets. The Fleetwood Flyer will also complete its guideway section and be disassembled near 152nd Street. Steel spans will be installed at the western end of the new line to connect track east of King George Station to the extension. B.C. Hydro will begin pulling cables between 156th Street and the Green Timbers propulsion power substation, while systems and electrical equipment installation will begin at the Green Timbers and Fleetwood station substations.

From 164th Street to 184th Street, work continues on the Pacific Highway propulsion power substation at 176th Street and Fraser Highway. Utility services and wall construction are underway, with roof work expected to begin in early October. Large guideway beams are being installed east of Highway 15 at night, requiring alternating single-lane traffic. Utility work and roadway restoration will also affect access and turning movements at intersections and driveways.

East of Highway 10, guideway column construction and roadway restoration will continue. Track installation west of 203 Street is scheduled to begin in late September, including rail delivery, lifting and installation on the elevated guideway, welding, grinding and concrete pouring.

TIC says planned fall construction is subject to change. Detailed information is available at surreylangleyskytrain.gov.bc.ca, while current project and construction updates are posted at surreylangleyskytrain.ca.
