Surrey city council candidate Pardeep Kooner prioritizes responsible spending

Pardeep Kooner, a Surrey Connect candidate, is a Surrey city councillor and a chartered professional accountant. He says he brings financial expertise, community leadership and dedicated service to the work of building a vibrant, inclusive Surrey.

Kooner’s three priorities are responsible spending, proper financial oversight of Metro Vancouver and affordable housing. He says responsible spending means treating every taxpayer dollar with care. Drawing on his accounting expertise, he says he will continue advocating for responsible budgeting, strong financial oversight, transparent decision-making and long-term planning.

Surrey is growing rapidly, Kooner says, and the city must make smart investments in infrastructure and services while protecting taxpayers from unnecessary costs. He says working together can build a financially sustainable Surrey that delivers value for residents today and in the future.

Asked why people should vote for him, Kooner says he would bring experience, accountability and a strong voice to City Hall, focused on responsible spending, stronger communities and a brighter future for Surrey.
