Three former B.C. Conservative MLAs join new, unnamed party
Rosalyn Bird, Bruce Banman and A’a:liya Warbus will join a party being formed by Peter Milobar and Ian Paton, with Milobar serving as interim leader ahead of an Oct. 5 leadership vote.

Three B.C. legislators who recently left the Conservative caucus say they have joined a new party being formed by Peter Milobar and Ian Paton.
Rosalyn Bird, Bruce Banman and A’a:liya Warbus made the announcement in a joint statement. Milobar and Paton had also left the Conservative caucus under the leadership of Kerry-Lynne Findlay.
The party, which has not yet been named, plans to hold a leadership vote before the legislature resumes Oct. 5. Milobar will serve as interim leader, and the group says it intends to seek official third-party status with its five seats.
Nine legislators have left the Conservative caucus since Findlay narrowly won the leadership in May, citing her leadership. Scott McInnis and Donegal Wilson were the latest to depart Wednesday.
