Canada ranks fifth in study of destinations for U.S. workers
A Country Navigator study places Canada fifth among destinations for U.S. workers relocating abroad, while saying Canada draws the highest annual U.S. relocation-search volume.

Canada placed fifth in a Country Navigator ranking of destinations for U.S. workers considering a move abroad. The cultural-intelligence training platform said it assessed OECD and developed economies using migration trends, labour demand, economic conditions and cultural alignment.
Country Navigator said Canada generates an average of about 105,500 U.S. relocation searches a year, the highest volume in the study. It cited established immigration pathways, continuing labour demand and close cultural alignment with the United States as factors supporting Canada’s position.
The study gave Canada an overall score of 8.07 out of 10 and listed about 620 American migrants per 100,000 people, a 6.9 per cent unemployment rate and political stability of 76 per cent. It also considered annual searches and American migrants per capita.
Switzerland ranked first, followed by New Zealand and Ireland. Country Navigator co-founder Chris Crosby said adapting to local communication, decision-making and relationship-building practices can be important for people moving abroad.
