Delta mayoral candidate Kruger signs Metro Vancouver accountability charter
Delta Coun. and mayoral candidate Dylan Kruger has signed a charter calling for governance, transparency and financial oversight reforms at Metro Vancouver.

Delta councillor and mayoral candidate Dylan Kruger has joined other Lower Mainland mayoral candidates in signing the Metro Vancouver Accountability Charter, which calls for stronger financial oversight, transparency and governance at the regional body.
The charter was co-founded by New Westminster Coun. Daniel Fontaine and Richmond Coun. Kash Heed, who are mayoral candidates in their respective cities. It includes five proposed actions, among them limiting mayors’ compensation for regional-board work to their municipal base salary and commissioning an independent review of the North Shore Wastewater Treatment Plant.
Signatories also support a smaller, directly elected mayors council to oversee Metro Vancouver, TransLink and E-Comm 911, as well as an auditor general for local government. They commit to launching an independent core-service review of Metro Vancouver programs within 90 days of the fall civic election.
Other signatories listed include Vancouver Mayor Ken Sim, Surrey councillor and mayoral candidate Linda Annis, Vancouver mayoral candidate Colleen Hardwick, and West Vancouver mayoral candidate Kirk LaPointe.
