Langley Board of Education welcomes students, staff and families back for the school year
The Langley Board of Education welcomed returning and new community members, highlighting expanded school space, future projects and support for students.

The Langley Board of Education has welcomed returning students, staff and families for the new school year, along with those joining the community for the first time. The board said it looks forward to a year of learning, growth and connection.
The board said students and staff will be welcomed into the new addition at Langley Secondary, which creates more space in a healthy, safe and positive learning environment. It is also looking forward to new middle and secondary schools taking shape in Willoughby as the district grows. The investments are intended to help schools meet the needs of students and families now and in the future.
The board said it will continue work set out in its strategic plan, including meeting goals and prioritizing students who may need more support. Working with students, staff, parents or guardians and community partners, it said it remains focused on creating conditions in which every student feels a sense of belonging, receives support in learning and has opportunities to reach their full potential.
Board chair Candy Ashdown thanked custodians, facilities and maintenance teams, IT staff and School Board Office staff for their summer work preparing classrooms, schools and systems for the year ahead. Their efforts, the board said, help ensure schools are safe, welcoming and ready for students on the first day.
