Langley families enjoy Forest Fest activities celebrating forests and water
The free family event marked B.C. National Forest Week and launched local Water Weeks, with guided farm tours, educational presentations, entertainment and wildlife encounters.

Forest Fest celebrated B.C. National Forest Week and kicked off Water Weeks, a local series of events highlighting the importance of water. The Langley Environmental Partners Society partnered with Langley Township to host the celebration of B.C. National Forest Week and B.C. Rivers Day, which the society recognizes as part of Water Weeks. Visitors could take part in guided farm tours, educational presentations and a scavenger hunt. The event also featured entertainers, face painting and food trucks.
The free, family-oriented event was held at the Derek Doubleday Arboretum, where community groups, government agencies and others set up booths along tree-lined paths. Inside the Rotary building, visitors could see snakes and other reptiles. The event also featured birds of prey, large bugs and water worms.
