Surrey police release photos of fraud suspect and ask public for help
Surrey police are seeking help identifying a man accused of using a fake bank draft and identification to buy a pickup truck in Fleetwood. The alleged fraud happened on Sept. 21.

Surrey police are asking the public to help identify a man suspected of fraud. The man allegedly used a fake bank draft and identification to buy a pickup truck from its owner in the city’s Fleetwood neighbourhood, the Surrey Police Service said in a news release Friday. Police say the alleged fraud happened on Sept. 21.
The SPS released two blurry photos and described the suspect as a South Asian man with a medium build, about 30 years old and 5 feet 8 inches tall. He was wearing a green shirt and black pants at the time, police said.
The truck’s seller called officers with the RCMP Surrey Provincial Operations Support Unit to the scene at about 9:20 a.m. on Sept. 22, and told them the transaction had taken place the night before. Police said the truck allegedly purchased through fraud was a black 2018 Ford F-150.
Anyone with information about the suspect’s identity or whereabouts can call the SPS non-emergency line at 604-599-0502 and cite file number 26-29409 (SU). Tips can also be submitted anonymously through Crime Stoppers at https://www.solvecrime.ca/index.php/en/.
