Volunteers move ranch animals as wildfire burns near Logan Lake
Volunteers helped move horses and sheep from a ranch near the Guichon Creek wildfire, which has grown to 88 hectares and is burning just over two kilometres from Logan Lake.

Volunteers helped move horses and sheep from a ranch near Logan Lake as the Guichon Creek wildfire burned close to the property.
The fire was discovered Wednesday afternoon and had grown to 88 hectares, burning just over two kilometres from the community. Residents described heightened anxiety as air tankers began dropping water soon after smoke rose from the forest.
BCWS said about 39 wildland firefighters and air resources were assigned to the fire. Crews reported rank three and four fire behaviour Thursday, including surface fire with open flame, occasional candling and a slow to moderate rate of spread. They were working on containment lines, hose lay and wet lines around the perimeter.
Elsewhere, BC Hydro says damage from the Brunswick Creek Fire Complex in the Fraser Canyon and the Big Bar fires near Clinton has left about 1,200 customers without power. The utility says restoration in some areas could take up to two weeks because significant reconstruction may be required and active wildfire conditions are restricting access.
