Historic Stewart Farm and Totest Aleng: Indigenous Learning House will host a free Harvest Fair in South Surrey on Sept. 19.
The event runs from noon to 4 p.m. at 13723 Crescent Road and will include live music, storytelling, a vendor market and hands-on activities celebrating land and harvest.
Canadian folk singer-songwriter Pat Chessell and storyteller Raymond Nakamura are listed as performers. Chessell will perform songs described as portraits of life’s struggles and triumphs, while Nakamura will read his book, a modern take on an older Japanese folktale.
Surrey heritage re-enactment troupe The Re-enactors will also return. More than 24 market vendors and several food trucks are expected.
