Richmond organizations receive $23,000 in regional cultural grants
Four Richmond arts and cultural organizations, including Gateway Theatre, shared $23,000 through Metro Vancouver's 2026 Regional Cultural Project Grants.

Four Richmond arts and cultural organizations, including Gateway Theatre, have received a combined $23,000 through Metro Vancouver's 2026 Regional Cultural Project Grants.
The annual program supports new cultural programming and efforts to reach new audiences. Metro Vancouver said 40 arts and culture organizations across the region shared $300,000 this year from 129 applications. Individual projects can receive up to $10,000.
Board chair Mike Hurley said the investment will support projects expected to produce cultural and economic benefits throughout the region, adding that a strong arts and culture sector contributes to Metro Vancouver's livability.
Metro Vancouver created the cultural grants program in 1991. It is supported through a Cultural Grant Reserve Fund, and organizations interested in future rounds can join Metro Vancouver's mailing list for program information.
