Surrey man charged after alleged metal-rod pursuit of Vancouver security guard
Police say Clifford Carreon, 41, was arrested after a security guard was allegedly threatened with a metal rod, had his vehicle damaged and was chased by bicycle.

A 41-year-old Surrey resident has been charged after allegedly chasing a Vancouver security guard with a metal rod, police say.
Vancouver Police Department officers responded at about 4:15 a.m. Saturday to an emergency call from an on-duty guard at a parkade near Cambie and Dunsmuir streets. The uniformed guard was on a routine patrol when he found a man sleeping inside the parkade.
When asked to leave, the suspect allegedly produced a short metal rod, swung it at the guard and damaged the guard’s vehicle. Police say the suspect then chased the guard on a bicycle.
An officer found a man matching the suspect’s description minutes later in a separate underground parkade near Cambie and West Georgia streets and arrested him without incident. Clifford Carreon has been charged with assault with a weapon and mischief under $5,000. He remains in custody awaiting a bail hearing.
