City of Surrey invites cultural grant applications ahead of Oct. 5 deadline
Local non-profit organizations can apply by Oct. 5, 2026, for a share of $500,000 through Surrey’s 2027 Cultural Grants Program.

Local organizations have until Oct. 5, 2026, to apply for funding through the City of Surrey’s 2027 Cultural Grants Program. The program has $500,000 available to support arts, culture and heritage activities across Surrey.
Laurie Cavan, general manager of Parks, Recreation and Culture, said the program invests in local organizations that create opportunities for people to experience arts, culture and heritage and connect with one another. She encouraged eligible organizations to apply before the deadline.
The program supports activities including music, dance, theatre, visual and media arts, heritage, Indigenous arts and cultural celebrations. Registered and non-registered non-profit organizations planning cultural activities in Surrey can apply through three streams: Cultural Celebration Grants of up to $3,000, Project Grants of up to $10,000 and Operating Grants of up to $25,000.
In 2026, the City awarded $506,400 in cultural grants to 86 organizations supporting annual operations, annual cultural events and one-time cultural events across Surrey. Organizations needing application help can book a one-on-one mentorship session with the Cultural Grants liaison until Sept. 25. The sessions offer guidance on eligibility and the application process. More information is available at surrey.ca/culturalgrants.
