VPD seeks witnesses and dashcam video in Marpole robbery
A woman was allegedly punched and robbed of her purse in a lane near Granville Street and S.W. Marine Drive early Aug. 27, police say.
Vancouver Police are seeking witnesses, information and dashcam footage after a robbery in the Marpole neighbourhood last week.
At about 1:30 a.m. on Aug. 27, a woman was walking in the west lane of the 8600 block of Granville Street near S.W. Marine Drive when an unidentified man approached her. Police say the man allegedly punched her in the face and stole her purse before fleeing.
A neighbourhood search did not locate the suspect. Officers found the victim’s phone nearby, and British Columbia Emergency Health Services paramedics treated her at the scene for nose injuries.
Police are reviewing area surveillance footage and ask drivers who were near Granville Street and S.W. Marine Drive between 1 a.m. and 2 a.m. on Aug. 27 to check dashcam recordings. Witnesses or people with video evidence can call Vancouver Police at 604-717-3321 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS.
