Intermittent traffic stoppages are expected on Fraser Highway between 168th and 184th streets in both directions through mid-November 2026. Drivers may be stopped at irregular intervals from 11 p.m. to 5 a.m. The B.C. government’s Transportation Investment Corporation (TIC) says the work supports construction of the Surrey–Langley SkyTrain, including delivery and installation of beams for the future guideway. Overnight work is intended to reduce traffic impacts.

Single-lane alternating traffic will be in place Sunday to Thursday nights from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. as crews prepare areas for beam installation. Intermittent full stoppages will occur between 11 p.m. and 5 a.m. while beams are delivered and lifted into place. Access for businesses and residents will be maintained, and traffic control will prioritize local access ahead of active work areas.

TIC expects temporary increases in noise and says mitigation measures are in place to reduce noise and direct lighting toward construction areas. Transit riders are advised to check TransLink.ca for the latest bus service information in the area. The travelling public can expect delays. More information about the project is available at surreylangleyskytrain.gov.bc.ca.
