Richmond seeks wall-space partners for 2026 community mural program
Property owners, businesses, stratas and non-profits can apply by Sept. 28, 2026, to host publicly visible murals that will be completed in 2027.

The City of Richmond is seeking property owners, businesses, stratas and non-profit organizations willing to offer wall space for its 2026 Community Mural Program. The eighth-year program connects artists and local partners to turn blank walls into public artworks reflecting Richmond’s character and neighbourhoods.
Successful applicants will be notified in early October and City staff will match them with a pre-qualified artist. Proposed locations must be visually accessible to the public and meet additional requirements; private single-family properties are not eligible. Details are available at richmond.ca/PublicArtPrograms.
Since launching in 2018, the program has completed 46 murals across Richmond, including Gathering Pond by Carolyn Wong at Minoru Arenas, The Elders by Jean Bradbury at Cook Elementary School, and Salmonberry and Lorquin’s admiral by Anais Lera at the McLean Park washroom facility. A photo accompanying the notice identifies The Great Kelp Forest by Aysha McConkey.
Applications close Monday, Sept. 28, 2026. The murals are to be completed in 2027.
