Richmond RCMP remind public about e-scooter and e-bike safety event

Richmond RCMP are reminding residents about the second of three e-scooter and e-bike safety outreach events being held in the community.

The events are intended to educate riders about road rules, safe riding practices and the importance of responsibly sharing roads and pathways with other users. Police say outreach and education remain key to promoting safe use as e-scooters and e-bikes grow in popularity in Richmond.

The event will run Friday, Aug. 28, 2026, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Lansdowne Mall south exit. Residents are encouraged to speak with event partners and learn about safe, responsible operation of e-scooters and e-bikes.

Information tents, safety brochures, giveaways and a prize draw will be available. Further information about the outreach series is in the initial release, “Richmond RCMP hosting E-scooter and E-Bike safety outreach events in Richmond.”
