Surrey council candidate Allison Patton prioritizes heritage protection and a four-year property tax freeze
The naturopathic doctor and small business owner says she has served South Surrey for 25 years and chaired city council’s Agriculture, Environment and Investment Committee.

Allison Patton, a Safe Surrey Coalition candidate for Surrey city council, is a naturopathic doctor and small business owner. She says she has served South Surrey for 25 years and chaired city council’s Agriculture, Environment and Investment Committee.
Her top three priorities are heritage designation for Crescent Beach and Ocean Park; protecting the Rosemary Heights lands as a park rather than allowing townhomes; and keeping property tax increases at zero for four years.
On heritage designation, Patton says Crescent Beach and Ocean Park are among Surrey’s last neighbourhoods of their kind, and that Bill 44 is being used to increase density there lot by lot. She says a Safe Surrey Coalition council would designate everything west of 140 Street as heritage, freeze zoning at single-family residential, pass a bylaw banning tree cutting, and stop the 89-townhome project at 128 Street and 24 Avenue. She says that once these neighbourhoods are gone, no council can bring them back.
Patton says voters should support her because of her council experience, 25 years serving South Surrey and strong community roots, and her commitment to keeping Surrey safe, affordable and moving forward.
