Canadians may get a free replacement in DREO space heater recall
Health Canada has announced a nationwide recall of thousands of DREO portable ceramic heaters that may overheat and ignite. Owners should stop using model DR-HSH015 immediately; the company is offering free replacements, including to people who no longer have a receipt.

As temperatures fall, Canadians are being urged to check their space heaters for a potential safety risk. Health Canada announced on Thursday that thousands of DREO heaters are being recalled nationwide because they can overheat and ignite, posing fire and burn hazards. People should stop using the recalled product immediately.
As of Oct. 22, the company had received one incident report in Canada, with no reported injuries. In the United States, it had received 16 incident reports and one report of an injury.
The affected product is the DREO portable oscillating ceramic space heater, model DR-HSH015. It is black, approximately 29 cm (11.5 inches) wide and 33 cm (13 inches) tall, comes with a remote control and has “DREO” printed on the front. The company says: “For your safety, please stop using the heater and register for the recall even if the heater has been working normally and you have never experienced any issues with it.”
DREO Innovation Inc. said 36,288 affected units were sold in Canada from September 2025 to August 2026. Another 338,800 units were sold in the United States. The product was made in Vietnam and distributed by Hesung Innovation Corp.
DREO is offering consumers a free replacement space heater. Owners can contact the company at (833) 820-0887, by email at spaceheater@realtimeresults.net, or through its recall website at https://www.recallrtr.com/spaceheater. To obtain a replacement, they must submit a photo of the product so the company can verify that its model is included in the recall. DREO will then provide registration instructions and ship the replacement once registration is complete. A receipt is not required to register for a replacement.
