Campfire ban lifted in Maple Ridge
Maple Ridge has lifted its campfire ban following the Coastal Fire Centre's updated wildfire-risk assessment and changing weather conditions, but larger fires remain prohibited.

The City of Maple Ridge has lifted its campfire ban in time for the Labour Day long weekend. The decision followed the Coastal Fire Centre's move to lift campfire prohibitions based on an updated wildfire-risk assessment and changing weather conditions.
Category 1 campfires are recreational or First Nation ceremonial fires measuring no more than 0.5 metres high and 0.5 metres wide.
The City said Category 2 and Category 3 fires remain prohibited. The continuing ban includes larger burn piles and backyard burning, as well as fireworks, burn barrels and cages, controlled air incinerators and binary exploding targets. Rules are available at MapleRidge.ca/Fire-Bans.
