Maple Ridge resident Dr. B. Meetarbhan argues that borrowing for recreation projects would saddle future generations with debt. He says the figures are already two years old, total costs could exceed $1 billion, and tax increases could hurt local businesses and raise residential rents.
Laity Pumpkin Patch has welcomed steady business since opening Sept. 26, with 20 pumpkin varieties, family activities and a 1,144-pound display pumpkin. The south-side patch is open until Oct. 31, with weekday and weekend hours and prices differing.
