Pitt Meadows Secondary replacement project update: Oct. 16, 2026
Soil compaction at the site of the new Pitt Meadows Secondary School is scheduled to begin Oct. 19. Work will run along the south side of the existing school and may cause noise and vibration indoors.

As part of ongoing site preparation for the new Pitt Meadows Secondary School, crews will begin soil compaction work on Monday, Oct. 19. Specialized equipment will compress and stabilize the fill material to prepare the ground for future construction.
The work will take place along the south side of the existing school building, starting at the west end and moving east. It is expected to continue throughout next week during the contractor’s regular working hours, from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Because the work is close to the existing school building, some noise and vibration may be heard or felt inside. Work is expected to occur in cycles of about 60 to 90 minutes, with breaks of about 30 minutes between work periods.
