Maple Ridge RCMP welcomes new operations officer

The Maple Ridge RCMP has welcomed Insp. Eusebius (Sub) Wong as its new operations officer. Wong brings 30 years of RCMP experience, all in the Lower Mainland, across federal, provincial and municipal business lines.

He began in frontline and community policing at the Burnaby detachment, then moved into federal surveillance, national security and the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team. For the past 12 years, he worked at the Surrey detachment in roles involving surveillance, major crime, youth, the bike section and watch-duty operations.

In recent months, Wong worked with the RCMP's Security Coordination & Operational Response team during the World Cup, described as the world's biggest international soccer tournament. He said he was excited to begin a new chapter in Maple Ridge and looked forward to using his experience to strengthen local public-safety initiatives alongside his new team and residents.

The Maple Ridge RCMP said Wong's arrival brings its senior leadership team to full capacity. The detachment said the structure will support an efficient and progressive policing model in close collaboration with community and civic partners.
