Caden Knudson will be the featured guest at Maple Ridge’s next SongStage

Maple Ridge singer, songwriter and guitarist Caden Knudson is the featured guest at the next SongStage. The event offers a welcoming songwriting circle for local artists, musicians, lyricists, songwriters and composers, with a guest musician’s performance, an open mic for original material and a relaxed café-style atmosphere. The City of Maple Ridge says online that SongStage is a place to discover local talent and connect through music, giving songwriters a safe setting to gain experience and exchange ideas with fellow creators.

Born and raised in Maple Ridge, Knudson has been a mainstay in the Fraser Valley music scene for more than a decade. His influences include the impactful songwriting of folk activists such as Woody Guthrie and the intricate guitar picking of country legends such as Doc Watson.

Each SongStage begins with a songwriter set of approximately 45 to 50 minutes, followed by an open mic for original songs only; covers are not accepted. The event takes place in the lobby of The ACT Arts Centre, 11995 Haney Pl., Maple Ridge, on the second Tuesday of every month. This month’s event is scheduled for 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 13. A licensed bar and snacks are available for purchase. There is no cover charge, and all ages are welcome. More information about Knudson is available at https://cadenknudson.ca/.
