Maple Ridge adds occupancy and patio permits to online portal
Maple Ridge has added occupancy and seasonal patio permits to its online building portal, bringing the number of permit types available digitally to nine.

Maple Ridge has expanded its Online Building Permit Portal to accept applications for occupancy permits and seasonal patio permits. The City says nine permit types are now available online for builders, developers, businesses and residents.
Occupancy permits are the final development-stage approval confirming that a new or renovated building meets applicable codes and permit conditions and is safe for occupancy or operation. Applicants can now apply, upload documents, receive updates and respond to requests for more information through the portal. Details are available at MapleRidge.ca/OccupancyPermits.
Eligible businesses can also apply online for seasonal patio permits through a guided process. Applicants planning patios that temporarily affect a roadway will be directed to obtain a Highway Use Permit before completing their patio application. Information is available at MapleRidge.ca/PatioProgram.
The portal is scheduled for maintenance in the early morning of Aug. 10, 2026, as the City prepares to introduce complex building-permit applications. Existing accounts, application records and documents will not be affected, and the City says current application processes and business workflows will remain unchanged.
The changes are part of Maple Ridge’s Development Services Optimization program. The City says the program has reduced new-home permit processing times by 73 per cent and that future work will include online planning applications such as official community plan amendments, rezonings, development permits, variances and subdivisions. More information is available at MapleRidge.ca/Build.
