Former Maple Ridge volunteer firefighter Paul Davidson seeks school trustee seat

Paul Davidson, a former employee of the Maple Ridge–Pitt Meadows School District, is running for school trustee in the upcoming municipal election. He said his previous work showed him the value of stronger support for students and staff, as well as better communication with families.

On the City of Maple Ridge website, Davidson said cuts should not come from school programs or transportation and should not be approached from the bottom up. He said everyone should be accountable for money spent and saved, and called for communication channels to be opened to everyone.

Davidson volunteered as a firefighter for 11 years, coached lacrosse and rugby, and volunteered with St. John Ambulance. A Maple Ridge resident for 30 years, he is married and has two children who graduated from SD42. The next general local elections are scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 17.
