Hot Summer Nights returns to Maple Ridge on Aug. 12
Maple Ridge Fire Rescue will host a free family evening at Fire Hall 4 on Aug. 12, with fire-safety activities, truck tours and water activities.

Maple Ridge Fire Rescue will bring back its Hot Summer Nights community event on Wednesday, Aug. 12. The free family event runs from 6 to 8 p.m. at Fire Hall 4, 11240 238 Street.
Residents will be able to meet firefighters, explore fire trucks and take part in fire- and emergency-safety activities. Water activities will also be offered as part of the evening.
The city advises participants to bring a bathing suit, towel, water bottle and sunscreen. Assistant Fire Chief Nick Virs said the event is also a reminder to stay hydrated, use sunscreen, take breaks from the heat and check on people who may be more vulnerable during extreme heat.
