Maple Ridge urges park visitors to plan ahead for BC Day weekend
Maple Ridge is asking residents and visitors to plan ahead for busy parks, lakes and trails over the BC Day long weekend, particularly at Whonnock Lake.

The City of Maple Ridge is asking residents and visitors to plan ahead before heading to local parks, lakes and trails over the BC Day long weekend, when traffic and parking pressure are expected to increase.
The city says summer demand is high at its parks and is urging visitors to help keep shared spaces safe, clean and welcoming. Bylaw, fire and parks staff will continue enforcement work aimed at reducing fire risks and maintaining park and trail conditions.
Whonnock Lake, one of the city’s busiest summer destinations, frequently reaches capacity on hot days. Visitors can sign up for notices when its parking lot is full at MapleRidge.ca/Alert.
The city recommends using alternate transportation where possible, following posted signs and respecting park rules. Maintenance concerns can be reported at MapleRidge.ca/Report, while compliance concerns can be sent to Bylaws@MapleRidge.ca. More park information is available at MapleRidge.ca/Parks.
