Thursday, Oct. 15, is the final opportunity to vote in advance in Maple Ridge’s 2026 local general election. Advance voting is open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. at Albion Community Centre (24165 104th Ave.), St. Luke’s Hall (20285 Dewdney Trunk Rd.) and Fraserview Village Hall (22610 116 Ave.). General voting day is Saturday, Oct. 17.

The election has had a strong start, with Maple Ridge city hall reporting increased interest in mail-in ballots and advance voting. A total of 2,911 people voted on Oct. 7 and 10, well above the 1,725 who voted during the three advance voting days in the 2022 municipal election. In 2022, 14,491 ballots were cast overall, for turnout of about 22 per cent. Turnout in 2018 was about 34 per cent.

Voters who chose to vote by mail must ensure their completed ballot reaches the Chief Election Officer by 8 p.m. on Oct. 17. If there is not enough time to mail it, voters can drop it off at city hall.

Maple Ridge voters will elect one mayor, six councillors and five trustees for School District No. 42. Those elected will serve four-year terms from November 2026 to October 2030. Voters will also answer three separate assent questions about proposed long-term borrowing for three Recreation Ready projects.

- Whonnock Elementary School – 27471 112 Ave. - Garibaldi Secondary School – 24789 Dewdney Trunk Rd. - Albion Community Centre – 24165 104 Ave. - Yennadon Elementary School – 23347 128 Ave. - Ridge Meadows Seniors Activity Centre – 12150 224 St. - Laity View Elementary School – 21023 123 Ave. - Hammond Elementary School – 11520 203 St. - Thomas Haney Secondary School – 23000 116 Ave.
