Maple Ridge renews downtown business improvement area through 2032
Maple Ridge council has renewed its downtown business improvement area for six years, increasing the levy-funded grant that supports the Downtown Maple Ridge Business Improvement Association.

Maple Ridge council has unanimously renewed the Downtown Business Improvement Area for a six-year term running from Jan. 1, 2027, through Dec. 31, 2032.
Council adopted the Maple Ridge Downtown Business Improvement Area Establishment Bylaw at its July 14 regular meeting after the required petition process. The bylaw supports programs and services delivered by the Downtown Maple Ridge Business Improvement Association (DMRBIA).
The City’s annual grant to the association is funded entirely by a levy on commercial properties within the business improvement area. Under the new bylaw, the grant will increase and the levy will apply to all downtown commercial properties.
Mayor Dan Ruimy said the renewal gives the association stability to continue supporting businesses, property owners and the broader community. The DMRBIA, established in 2007, serves more than 730 members through advocacy, promotion, beautification and other supports.
