Inya Mitrovic campaigns on ‘thoughtful growth’ for Maple Ridge council

Inya Mitrovic is running for Maple Ridge city council on a platform she calls “thoughtful growth.” She says the city’s decisions in the coming years will shape the community for decades as it continues to expand.

Mitrovic and her spouse, Dana, moved to Maple Ridge from Vancouver in 2019. Her platform emphasizes protecting the natural environment, rural character and agricultural land while accommodating urban development.

She is president of MRC Strategies, a consulting business where she works as a negotiator and strategist with First Nations, government agencies and industry. Before founding the company in 2017, she worked on TC Energy’s Indigenous relations team on proposed LNG pipeline projects.

Mitrovic, who is running as an independent, says her work experience would help her collaborate with whichever mayor and councillors are elected. She also calls for supporting local businesses and ensuring services and community spaces keep pace with growth.
