Maple Ridge public hearing set for citywide tenant-protection permit area
Maple Ridge will hold a July 21 public hearing on a proposed citywide permit area intended to protect tenants before demolitions.

Maple Ridge will hold a public hearing on July 21 for a proposed citywide Tenant Protection Development Permit Area.
Official Community Plan Amending Bylaw No. 8109-2026 would allow the city to require a tenant-protection development permit before issuing a demolition permit. The stated aim is to ensure conditions under a proposed tenant-protection bylaw are met before tenants are displaced.
The hearing begins at 7 p.m. in council chambers at city hall, 11995 Haney Place. People who believe their property interests are affected may make oral or written submissions.
Written comments must be received by noon on the day of the meeting and can be emailed to Clerks@MapleRidge.ca or delivered to city hall. The public can attend in person, watch online at MapleRidge.ca/CouncilMeetings, or take part through Zoom using meeting ID 854 0696 2365.
No further submissions can be considered after the public hearing closes.
