Donors needed for Maple Ridge mobile blood clinics on Oct. 16 and 17
Canadian Blood Services is holding mobile blood donation clinics in Maple Ridge on Oct. 16 and 17, with many appointments still available. Blood lasts just 42 days, making ongoing donations essential to maintaining a stable supply.

Canadian Blood Services is asking eligible donors in the Fraser Valley to attend mobile blood donation clinics at Maple Ridge Alliance Church, 20399 Dewdney Trunk Road. The agency says the community has a strong history of supporting Canada’s Lifeline through blood donation, but the need is constant and many appointments remain available.
The clinics run Friday, Oct. 16, from noon to 6:45 p.m., and Saturday, Oct. 17, from 10 a.m. to 4:45 p.m. Blood has a shelf life of just 42 days, the agency says, so ongoing donations are essential to maintaining a stable supply for patients. People across Canada rely on transfusions every day for surgeries, cancer treatments, emergency care and other medical needs.
Donating takes less than an hour and helps ensure patients receive the care they need. Donors are encouraged to bring a friend, family member or colleague to increase their impact.
Under the Fall Get Together campaign, anyone who books and attends a blood or plasma donation appointment with at least one other person between Sept. 8 and Dec. 6 will be entered for a chance to win an exclusive Canadian Blood Services Peace Collective donor hoodie.
