Port Hammond ranks among B.C.’s friendliest neighbourhoods on Nextdoor
Nextdoor placed Port Hammond seventh and Albion 19th in its B.C. friendliness rankings, which are based on activity on the platform.

Port Hammond in Maple Ridge has been ranked seventh among B.C.’s friendliest communities by the neighbourhood app and website Nextdoor. Maple Ridge’s Albion neighbourhood placed 19th.
Nextdoor’s top five were Delta, Courtenay, Langford, Nanaimo and Kelowna. The platform described Port Hammond as a quiet, safe Fraser Valley community known for its clean surroundings, views, dog-friendly parks and freeway access. Albion was described as peaceful, family-friendly and known for parks and safe neighbourhoods.
The company says the rankings are not based on conventional surveys. Its score draws on platform activity, including the tone of conversations, fulfilled requests for help and recommendations, free-item sharing, welcomes for newcomers and support for local businesses.
Nextdoor spokesperson Kelsey Grady said the rankings recognize everyday acts of help and connection between neighbours.
