Tickets on sale for Maple Ridge charity dance competition
The fifth annual Dancing in the Ridge takes place Nov. 12 at The ACT Arts Centre. Tickets cost $44 per person, with proceeds supporting the Maple Ridge Community Foundation’s emergency assistance program.

Tickets are on sale for Dancing in the Ridge, a fundraiser for the Maple Ridge Community Foundation. Inspired by the American television show Dancing with the Stars, local dance teams will perform routines ranging from hip-hop to contemporary for a panel of judges. This is the event’s fifth year.
Proceeds will support the foundation’s Community Chest Program, which provides a one-time gift to people in the community facing an emergency. Examples include rent assistance to help prevent eviction, financial help with a medical procedure, or support for another need. The teams are paired with representatives from local dance studios, who help them develop and perform a professional-looking routine.
Special performances will also be part of the evening, which combines entertainment with community impact. The event begins at 7 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 12, at The ACT Arts Centre, 11944 Haney Place, in Maple Ridge.
