Ridge Meadows Flames blank Delta Ice Hawks 3-0 in revenge win
Captain Josh Bettesworth scored all three goals, and rookie goalie Jonah Chambers made 32 saves in the Tuesday shutout. The Flames host the Chilliwack Jets tonight at 7:30 p.m.

The Ridge Meadows Flames settled the score with the Delta Ice Hawks on Tuesday night, defeating them 3-0 at Cam Neely Arena. Delta had shut out the Flames 7-0 the previous weekend. Captain Josh Bettesworth scored all three goals, including two on the power play. The Flames scored twice on seven power-play chances and held Delta scoreless on eight opportunities. Goalie Jonah Chambers stopped all 32 shots for the shutout and was named the game’s first star; Bettesworth was the second star. Chambers, a rookie from Maple Ridge, has allowed just seven goals in four starts this season. Jack Schierau and Jonah Ussher each had two assists.
The Flames are off to one of the British Columbia Hockey Conference’s (BCHC) best starts. Their 5-1 record puts them second in the six-team Mainland Division, behind Delta, which has 13 points in nine games. The Flames host the Chilliwack Jets at Cam Neely Arena tonight, Oct. 2. The Jets lead the Valley Division with a 4-2 record and have the BCHC’s highest penalty-minute average, at more than 30 per game across the 22-team league. The puck drops at 7:30 p.m.
