Jackson Farm filming to proceed without tree removal
A production scheduled to film at Jackson Farm on Aug. 24 will proceed without removing small fruit trees identified in its original plan, Maple Ridge says.

A production company scheduled to film at Jackson Farm on Aug. 24 will proceed without removing the small fruit trees included in its original plan, according to the City of Maple Ridge.
The city said the change followed discussions about concerns raised by residents. The original plan involved about eight or nine small fruit trees, generally three to four feet tall. The trees were not planted by the city and are not protected or heritage trees under its Tree Protection and Management Bylaw.
Maple Ridge said it will continue working with the production company to reduce impacts during filming. Nearby residents were notified and surveyed about the schedule and possible impacts under the city’s filming policy.
Jackson Farm is classified as undeveloped parkland and is not a public park. The city said it plans future community engagement through a master-planning process identified in its Parks, Recreation and Culture Master Plan.
