Telosky field to close for six weeks as Maple Ridge replaces turf infill
Telosky Field No. 1—Polygon Field will close for about six weeks while its synthetic-turf infill is replaced under warranty; Golden Ears Field is expected to reopen July 30.

Maple Ridge is replacing infill at selected synthetic turf fields because of deficiencies in the existing thermo-plastic elastomer product. The city says the supplier is completing the work under warranty at no cost to the city.
Telosky Field No. 1—Polygon Field will close Thursday, July 30, for about six weeks while the infill is replaced. Golden Ears Field is expected to reopen the same day.
During work at Golden Ears Field, the contractor found that the green pellets between the synthetic grass blades were heavily compacted deep in the turf fibres and could not be fully removed by equipment. The contractor will remove surface clumps and restore the field with the same infill to keep conditions consistent and safe for use.
The city says it will continue monitoring Golden Ears Field and plans a full turf-carpet replacement at a later date. Project details and a list of completed fields are available at MapleRidge.ca/InfillReplacement.
