Ridge Meadows Terry Fox Run sets $50,000 goal for Sept. 20 event
Organizers of the Ridge Meadows Terry Fox Run are aiming to raise $50,000 at a family-friendly event on Sept. 20 at Albion Fairgrounds.

The Ridge Meadows Terry Fox Run will return to Albion Fairgrounds on Sept. 20 with a $50,000 fundraising goal.
Organizers Deanna Dyer and Cameron Steen say the event raised about $80,000 combined during its first two years after being revived. About 700 people took part last year.
Registration opens at 9 a.m. at 23448 105 Ave., followed by opening ceremonies at 10 a.m. Terry Fox’s brother Fred Fox is expected to welcome participants, alongside the mayors of Maple Ridge and Pitt Meadows.
The event includes a 2.2-kilometre accessible route and is open to pets, strollers and bikes. Family activities are planned, including bouncy castles, a fire truck, live music, lawn games, food and face painting.
Donations can be made by tap card, and organizers are also encouraging attendees to bring toonies. Registration, donations and merchandise information are available at run.terryfox.ca. Ridge Meadows is expected to be one of about 650 communities across Canada hosting a Terry Fox Run.
