Maple Ridge bottle drive to support Operation Christmas Child
A Sept. 12 bottle drive at Ridge Church in Maple Ridge will raise money for Operation Christmas Child shoebox gifts for children in need worldwide.
A bottle drive supporting Operation Christmas Child will take place Sept. 12 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the west parking lot of Ridge Church, 22155 Lougheed Hwy. in Maple Ridge.
Organizers will accept bottles, cans and other refundable drink containers. It will be their last bottle drive until March 2027.
From September through March, residents can instead take refundable containers to Recycle It and direct the proceeds to the Operation Christmas Child account. The money helps purchase items for gift-filled shoeboxes throughout the year.
Through the program, Samaritan’s Purse sends shoebox gifts to children in need around the world. National Drop-Off Week runs from Nov. 16 to Nov. 22, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
